This forest is not only sequestering carbon from the atmosphere but will become a source of wood, thus helping eliminate some of the pressure to cut down the Rain Forest. It is already becoming habitat for wild Brazilian birds such as tucans and parakeets and animals like tatus and Brazilian hares.
